Nupps

I don't get them. I don't get why. And I don't think they look good enough to excuse the considerable trouble.

I'm working on the Swallowtail Shawl right now. I've don't one row of nupps. I'm thinking that's the only row of them I'm going to do. I'm just hoping that it won't look too odd to only have the one row and no more.

I think they exist purely to frustrate knitters. The Forest Path drives me nuts that way, so much so that I've often considered abandoning them altogether and using beads in their place. Is that an option in your case?

"Zedsta"... There are too many directions I could go with this, so I won't make any suggestions at all. :P

I'm inclined to agree with you on this. I would probably use beads if I wanted to spend more time doing the shawl and fuss with getting some matching beads and figuring out how to get them on there with a crochet hook, but I'm going to be lazy because I don't think the recipient will miss them (or the nupps)... And the beads might actually annoy her if they're there. A lot of other people who have knitted the Swallowtail Shawl have used beads though. I think they look nice! :D

"Zadsta"! That's a strange one!
